A snatch thief paid for his crime with his life when he was knocked down by a car after grabbing a woman’s handbag.
The incident happened when a couple were riding their motorcycle at the Cheras-Kajang Expressway in Malaysia at about 8am.
As they were riding past the Grand Saga Petronas station, another motorcyclist suddenly grabbed the woman’s handbag.
A police source said the woman refused to let go, and after a few seconds of a tug-of-war, all three people fell on the emergency lane.
He said the couple suffered light bruises and cuts but the robber got up and rode off with the handbag, reports The Star.
“However, as the man rode off on the main expressway, he was hit from behind by a car.
“The driver said she couldn’t stop in time when the robber swerved into her lane,” he added.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said the 32-year-old victim and her husband, 36, were taken to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital.
The snatch thief’s body was taken to the Serdang hospital for a post-mortem.
